An agent-based matchmaker

چکیده
Service discovery is the process of localizing resources and services available in large scale open and distributed systems. In a distributed and redundant system as the Web, it is necessary, beside localizing services, to filter them in order to obtain those which are best for the activities for which they have been requested. By the term matchmaker we mean a software entity which monitors services availability, maintains an updated file of all useful information for using services and possibly ensures a quality choice of them. In this paper we propose an architecture for an agent-based matchmaker. The matchmaker that takes part in the request process has been developed by using the potential of a quality model based on suitable parameters to ensure the proper choice of a service to be consumed in a specific application domain. A case study in biomedical domain is presented. This case study is concerned with the development of a multi-agent system including a Bio-certifier in support of service discovery activity.

A Possibilistic Petri-Nets-Based Service Matchmaker for Multi-Agents System Architecture
The focus of this paper is to devise a service-oriented architecture for multi-agents system (called SAM), to reach a wide adoption and routine use of agents, web services, and semantic web technologies. In order to better integrate agents, web applications and information sources in an open and distributed environment such as the Internet, a service matchmaker called middle agent is responsibl...
متن کاملA Semantic Matching Method for Clustering Traders in B2B Systems
This Work is part of the ICS (Intelligent Commerce System) project whose aim is to design and implement an effective Intelligent B2B Commerce System. This paper presents a practical application on Semantic Web and Web Services concepts where a matching procedure to associate potential buyers and suppliers in a B2B system is shown and the use of patterns and tools in the development of Semantic ...
متن کاملMatching Conflicts: Functional Validation of Agents
in most working and proposed multiagent systems, the problems of identifying and locating agents that can provide specific services are of major concern. A broker or matchmaker service is often proposed as a solution. These systems use keywords drawn from application domain ontologies to specify agent services, usually framed within some sort of knowledge representation language. However, we be...
متن کاملWSMO-MX: A hybrid Semantic Web service matchmaker
The WSMO-MX service matchmaker applies different matching filters to retrieve Semantic Web services written in a dialect of the prominent service description language WSML-Rule. For this purpose, WSMO-MX recursively computes logicbased and syntactic similarity-based matching degrees and returns a ranked set of services that are semantically relevant to a given query. The matching filters perfor...
متن کاملConstraint-Based Strategies for Matchmakers
We describe a paradigm for content-focused matchmaking, based on a recently proposed model for constraint acquisition-and-satisfaction. Matchmaking agents are conceived as constraint-based solvers that interact with other, possibly human, agents (Customers). The Matchmaker provides potential solutions ("suggestions") based on partial knowledge, while gaining further information about the proble...
